Part:BBa_K1682010
conjugation(RP4) plasmid with MHT (Methyl halide transferase) and GFP
This plasmid contains three main components: the RP4, GFP, and MHT. The RP4 gene, when transformed specifically into S17 E. coli strain, facilitates the conjugation of E.coli with most other bacteria. The plasmid also contains MHT, short for methyl halide transferase, which if provided with either Br, Cl, or I, produces its corresponding methyl halide gas. This part also contains a GFP, specifically BBa_E0040. This plasmid can be used to faciliate transformation of bacteria that are not easily transformable through heat shock or electroporation. In addition, the plasmid also have two reporter genes, which produce the GFP and the methyl halide gas.
